Something Personal...

This is a link which I will try to update the contents every
once in a while. Its purpose will be to encourage you with
verses that encouraged me, or to give you points to think
about that have spoken to me. In other words – something
personal.

It is written about Abraham: "He believed in the Lord, and
He reckoned it to him as righteousness" (Genesis 15:6).
Even before Abraham knew what a Jew is, and even before the
law was given, he knew God in a personal way and was
considered a righteous man because of his honest faith.

As a human being, many times I try to satisfy God through my
works and deeds in order to make me feel good about myself.
I find myself focusing on works, as if He needs something
from me, rather than focusing on Him. I tend to forget that
my good works or deeds do not draw me closer to Him nor buy
me an entrance ticket into heaven. God looks at my heart to
see if I have an honest faith. My works are merely a result
of my faith; "Faith, if it has no works, is dead" (James
2:17).
I need to be thankful to the Lord that He lovingly allows me
to serve Him. This is the least I can do for him and is an
expression of my thankfulness for what He has done for me. I
need to serve God out of thankfulness for the fact that He
opened my heart to understand that I am a sinner in need of
salvation and that Salvation is attained only through
receiving Jesus the Messiah as Lord and Savior. I need to
thank God for making my heart alive and for giving me His
Spirit.
Thank you God!

"God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with
which He loved us, even when we were dead in our
transgressions, made us alive together with Christ, by grace
you have been saved ....through faith, and that not of
yourselves, it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:4,5,8).
